A 5-YEAR STUDY OF PULMONARY ACTINOMYCOSIS

TYPE: Abstract TOPIC: Chest Infections PURPOSE: To characterize the population with pulmonary actinomycosis diagnosed from january 2015 to december 2019 in our centre. METHODS: Demographic and clinical data were collected by consulting process. RESULTS: 1: A 65-year-old-man, non smoker, oligophrenic, chronic cough changes on chest CT scan – a 4-cm-long linear calcified image bronchiectasis RLL. The bronchofibroscopy revealed mucosal swelling RBT foreign body, that was removed. bronchial biopsy showed bone tissue colonies of microorganisms Actinomyces morphology. He did doxycycline for 6 months radiological improvement. 2: 47 year-old-man, ex-smoker, previous history schizophrenia, admitted right pleural effusion. reported progressive weigh loss presented extensive dental caries. patient underwent drain insertion purulent drainage. Subsequent radiographs thickening preventing full lung reexpansion. descortication. Anaerobic cultures fluid reaveled israelii. amoxicillin-clavulanic acid 3 good response. 3: 73 hemoptysis. basal pneumonia BAL naeslundii culture. responded well high doses intravenous then oral amoxicillin 5 months. CONCLUSIONS: sample size is limitation study, which agreement fact rare bacterial infection. CLINICAL IMPLICATIONS: Pulmonary often leads misdiagnosis tuberculosis or cancer.
